A 2 Terabyte thumbnail drive for $4 seems legit, right? /s

That seems... ambitious. Not the size, that's totally doable but for $4

And here I have a hard time finding 4gb flash drives. Any larger and for some reason my work computer can’t recognize it

They’re counting on making their money by stealing your identity with the malware loaded onto it.

they’re probably only 4GB or so but have been “modified” to report 4TB

Ye. They fuck with the controller firmware so it tells your computer it has more capacity than it does.

Is your work computer from the 90's?

Plenty of youtube videos about these things... Usually a cleverly programmed microcontroller, often with a few megabytes of real flash (so that a small test file copy works) , that spoofs a larger capacity (say, I don’ t know, 2tb?) d isk an d deli vers a malware payload of the seller’s choice. They're worse than a fake, you end up literally paying the hacker to install a hardware-delivered payload.

Yup. It’s why I only buy brand name for high capacity stuff.

If it looks to good to be true... it’s prutoing to give your computer a virus and steal your data.

and they leak your data to some sketchy place

Soon the whole internet will know their license plate #, then it’s only a matter of time until the government gets it
